Huron (ticket validated at the 1st/2nd-floor Customer Service desks — $15 up to 7 hrs / $32 for 7–24 hrs), check-in flow (Customer Service Desk → registration → 8th-floor L&D), and current visitor rules at nm.org/visitors. Hospital bags in the car, RELX base installed, gas tank full, phone chargers packed.

Final-confirm the full legal name

Decided Oct 4 — now just confirm it's written identically everywhere: the documents folder, Blair's MyNM record, your notes for the birth-certificate worksheet. The worksheet becomes the legal name, the SSN, the insurance enrollment, and the 529 — one spelling, everywhere.

Confirm Toby + household coverage for hospital days

Toby's caregiver: reconfirm dates, keys in hand, food stocked, care sheet on the counter. House: thermostat set, doors locked, helper keys distributed, night nurse's arrival confirmed for the first shift home. Emergency sheet on the fridge.

Run the comms plan once, out loud

Walk through the Nov 16 plan together: who calls whom when labor starts, the "baby's here" message, the photo-sharing group, social-media rules. Then put the phones down — the plan works because you already made it.

Eleven weeks of preparation compress into this: a short list, in order.

When labor starts

Call your OB / Prentice per their instructions.
Toby handoff — execute the plan from Dec 4 (caregiver, keys, care sheet on the counter).
Drive to 250 E. Superior St.; park at the 222 E. Huron garage; validate the ticket at Customer Service (floors 1–2).
Check in per the confirmed flow (Customer Service Desk → registration → 8th-floor Labor & Delivery).
Hand over the documents envelope: IDs, insurance cards, pediatrician name + number, the decided legal name.
Run the comms plan — one message to the tree, then phones away.

The house, ready to receive you back

Crib assembled, Newton mattress on, fitted sheet (organic cotton) on, bare otherwise.
Nursing station one (bedroom) and two (nursery glider corner) stocked: Haakaa, pads, lanolin, Silverettes, water bottle, charger, Hatch Rest glowing.
Freezer full — roughly a month of dinners from batches 1 + 2.
Diaper sampler + Earth Mama balm at the changing station; the winning brand gets bulk-ordered once fit is known.
Car seat base installed in the Forester since Nov 14; infant seat clicks in for the ride home.

The paperwork chain (in order, after birth)

Hospital: birth-certificate worksheet (legal name — final) → hospital files it.
SSN: applied for via the worksheet; card arrives by mail in weeks.
Insurance: start Blair's-plan enrollment by Dec 28 (don't wait for the SSN card); verify processed by Jan 5; hard target Jan 8, 2027.
Pediatrician: first visit 24–48 hours after discharge (arranged in October).
529: open the decided account (Vanguard or Bright Start) once the SSN arrives; share the Ugift code with grandparents.
Night nurse: first shift per the November booking.

What "done" looks like

By Tuesday night, Dec 8: bags in the car, base in the car, name confirmed, Toby covered, house set, freezer full, comms plan rehearsed, support roster on the fridge. Everything after that is just waiting — and you're ready.
