Most plans cover a double-electric pump as durable medical equipment. Call Blair's plan (or its DME supplier — commonly Aeroflow or a similar vendor) and place the order now; shipping and paperwork take weeks, and you want it in hand well before December. Confirm what's covered: pump, extra flange sizes, replacement parts schedule.

Breastfeeding is the plan; the setup below assumes that and adds a sealed backup layer. Everything here was chosen for materials first — food-grade silicone, organic cotton, and clean formulas.

The pump (insurance)

Order through Blair's insurance this week (action 1). A double-electric is the workhorse; the Haakaa Generation 1 silicone pump (4 oz) is the passive sidekick — it catches letdown from the other breast while nursing, no batteries, dishwasher-safe food-grade silicone. haakaausa.com

Nipple care & nursing pads

Keep the formula sealed until needed — unopened cans store ~a year. Once breastfeeding is established (or if supplementation is advised), the backup is already in the house.

The station itself

Each of the two stations: the glider/rocker you already own (nursery) or a bedroom chair, a side table with a large water bottle, the Haakaa, nursing pads, lanolin, a burp cloth stack (organic cotton per your standing preference), phone charger, and a dim light — the Hatch Rest (ordered next week) covers the nursery side. Nothing fancy; everything within arm's reach at 3am is the whole design goal.
